London Adventure 11-12 Feb 2008

We do hope all the hardwork in planning paid off and I'm sure the Cubs would like to thank the adults and Young Leaders who took them on such a wonderful adventure. On the left is a link to some feedback after the adventure, with some great thank yous, and in the Photo Gallery you will see links to the photos already available. We will add more photos as we get themSmile
Update the day after....
Well the good news is we set off with 26 Cubs, and returned home with 26 Cubs! They all seem to have had a brilliant time - with the second day including a tour of HMS Belfast, a visit to the Clink and climbing up to the Top of Tower Bridge as part of the Tower Bridge Experience. The only slight hitch was when the train home decided to break down so the journey took slightly longer than originally planned.
As usual there is bound to be lost property or Cubs having taken someone else's item by mistake so please just take it all along to Cubs next week where it can be swapped over.

Update 6.45pm Monday
The Cubs have completed their Photo Trail (which counts as 1 hike for a badge) and are now back on board HMS Belfast. They crossed lots of bridges including the Millenium Bridge (was know as the "wobbly bridge" if you recall). It's hot chocolate all round whilst they wait for their pizzas to be delivered. A Fisheries Protection ship has now moored alongside so they'll have a great view of that in the morning. Everyone has had a great day and the adults are shattered - not so sure about the CubsSmile

Update 4pm Monday
Hopefully parents will now be re-assured to note that yes they did all make it safely to London and yes they are having a great time! (see photo below of some of them to prove it) They enjoyed the journey to HMS Belfast and their "flight" on the London Eye. Hopefully a special memory made for the 5 new Cubs who were invested on board the London Eye itself. The fantastic weather meant they had a brilliant view. Now all on their photo trail along the Thames, which includes crossing the various bridges en route(although maybe it should be called the "lunchbox hunt" as 2 careless Cubs have lost theirs already!!!) Should make them good and hungry for the pizza and who knows, they might even sleep a bit tonightSmile
