For the first time in quite a few years Big Breakfast was back!
Beavers, Cubs and Scouts (with some adult helpers) cooked up everything from bacon rolls to full English breakfasts, there was a cake stall and a tombola - plus Owen raising funds to take him to the World Scout Jamboree in America next year (he would like to say thank you to everyone who supported him, his stall raised £37 - which all helps him to reach his target to attend the 24th World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia).
Thank you to all those who helped, and to all those who came along to support us. The biggest thank you has to go to Nicki Halls and Cathy Fewtrell (and their families!) for their massive efforts to make the event such a success. Makes me feel old (and proud) to see Jess as Scout Leader there helping one of her Scouts - not so long ago that she WAS the Scout!
Customer feedback was great, with lots of people commenting on the great food, speedy service and just how well behaved and helpful the young people were. It was great to have people talk so positively about scouting, and we may even have found a future volunteer or two. Especially loved the man (didn't get his name) who drove up, got out, handed over a donation and drove away again - much appreciated.
In total the event raised a fantastic £525!!!!!!
