If Bear Grylls can spare the time to volunteer for Scouting perhaps you can too?!
Fenstanton & Hilton Scout Group
For those who think Scouting's had it's day then we suggest you think again! Every week 85 boys and girls aged 6 to 14 take part in fun adventure and the adults have a great time too Smile Whether you are 6 or 60 there is bound to be something you can get involved in.

We like the youngsters to experience nights away as often as possible. As well as many other camps and sleepovers our Cubs have enjoyed CubJam 2009 (a whole week of jamboree style fun), "Kip in A Ship" (which involved 2 days exploring London and sleeping on board HMS Belfast) and a weekend at PGL with ; in Summer 2007 our Scouts spent 10 days in Norway, including a week on an island in the Oslo Fjord; Beavers joined our Cubs and Scouts for our MI5 Boot Camp at Mepal in June 2008.
.
As well as all the regular activities when based in and around our Scout Hut youngsters have been able to go climbing, use kayaks, try shooting, treasure hunts, pond dipping, make pancakes, try fencing, tackle High Ropes, learn emergency aid, see a pantomime, had Vikings and Romans to visit, been to Duxford.... the list would fill several pagesSmile

As if that wasn't enough we have helped others through supporting one of our Young Leaders embarking on a Scouting project in Ghana, taking tree guards down at Fen Drayton Lakes and carrying out an insect hunt there for the RSPB. We have then had our own fundraisers - Christmas Post and Big Breakfast.

We also take part in District and County events for all ages - Handicraft competitions, Beaveree, Sleepovers, St George's Day, Remembrance Day, night hikes, swimming galas...

We are a really active Scout Group in Cambridgeshire, and are keen for both adults and children alike to make the most of what Scouting has to offer. We have opportunities for adults to help that range from a few hours a year to a few hours a week so if you could help please just let us know.

If you are new to Scouting or would like to make a donation then please can we suggest you start with the "Scout Group" link to the left and visit our Photo Gallery.

If you or your children are already in our Group then you should be able to find most things you need. You can also contact us to give feedback (as our crystal ball has yet to be delivered), suggest new fund raisers or let your children suggest events and activities for any section.
